Geographe Catchment Council

Our Charter
To work with the community and management agencies, to manage the catchment of Geographe Bay and its marine environment so that natural systems, people and their activities co-exist in a healthy, productive and sustainable way.
The Geographe Catchment Council - GeoCatch - was established in July 1997, from the Geographe Bay Advisory Committee, as a result of growing local concern about the health of the Geographe Catchment. Community consultation resulted in a decision to form a community-based management body using an integrated catchment management approach. GeoCatch is sponsored by the Department of Environment but has a strong local community base reinforced by the expertise of several government agencies.
GeoCatch
- supports and assists initiatives, particularly on-ground works, aimed at rehabilitating, protecting and promoting sustainable development of the catchment;
- provides leadership through integrating and coordinating management activities across the catchment; and
- has an educational, advisory and research role.
The GeoCatch Network Centre at Unit 1a 72 Duchess St, Busselton is open to the community and provides access to a library of resources - books, pamphlets and videos.
