The South West Catchments Council’s Coastal team has been busy kickstarting a planting project, planting 64,000 trees to revegetate the Vasse Wonnerup Wetlands and return it to its former state as a haven for migratory birds.

Cape to Cape




The Cape to Cape Catchments Group is an incorporated community-based catchment management group working in partnership with government agencies, landholders, educational institutions, industry associations and community groups to coordinate natural resource management in the Cape to Cape region. The Department of Water provides strategic support to the group.

The aim of the group is to support management of the area's natural resources for a healthy, productive and sustainable future.  

The group was formed following a community meeting in November 2000 and includes community members and representatives from Shires, GeoCatch, the Department of Water, the Department of Agriculture and Food and the Department of Environment and Conservation. Strategic support is provided by the Department of Water.
